Love the Skin You're In

Just like human food and shampoo labels, reading the ingredient lists on pet food and shampoo is equally as confusing. Labels are full of tricky definitions making it hard to know what is good or bad. Ingredient quality and manufacturing techniques play a big role in the safety of the product, yet there are no regulations for standards of ingredient purity or manufacturing processes. Neither is there a verification process for the many products marketed as natural that actually contain harmful ingredients.

Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs whatever we put on it into our bodies. Avoiding toxins can be hard when labels are so difficult to decipher. Toxic ingredients can cause allergic reactions, skin irritation, and/or have cancer causing chemicals and hormone disrupters.

Certified organic dog grooming products are held to a much higher standard and verify their ingredients. Pawsh Pet Place uses these fine products in our Millionhairs Grooming salon. Our chosen shampoos have certified organic ingredients free from harmful toxins, are cruelty free which means they are not tested on animals, and are biodegradable so that when they go down the drain they don’t harm our waters and the animals that use them.

Our choices matter – let’s make the best ones for our planet, ourselves, and our pets.
